BYTET emerged in 1989 as the sonic vision of R.G. Geiger, a solitary alchemist weaving sound from shadow. Moved by his brother’s poetry, R.G. breathed new life into Timothy’s dark and lyrical verse, crafting moody, Gothic compositions that pulsed with emotional intensity. By the spring of 1992, BYTET stepped from the shadows into the glow of underground stages—haunting Anchorage’s alternative bars, coffeehouses, and underage warehouse shows as a one-man Gothic/Techno force. The intensity doubled when R.G. teamed up with percussionist Kris Rosentrator. In the years that followed, R.G.’s creative path led him through additional collaborations with Alaskan bands like Bingo Swingers, Parallax1, and the haunting duo Cliff and Ivy. In 2023, BYTET was resurrected—reborn through the lens of 21st-century technology, echoing anew with dark beauty and digital soul.
